A slingshot, also referred to as a shanghai or pea shooter, is an easy ranged weapon that consists of a Y-shaped body with an elastic band connected to the ends. It’s used to launch small projectiles, reminiscent of stones or marbles, by pulling again on the elastic band and releasing it.
Slingshots have been used for hundreds of years for searching, warfare, and recreation. They’re a comparatively cheap and easy-to-make weapon, and they are often surprisingly correct and highly effective. In some cultures, slingshots are even used for aggressive sports activities.
